Campbell 800

The city of Campbell is bordered on the east and north by San Jose, on the south by Los Gatos, and on the west by a small portion of Saratoga. The city has utilized conscientious planning to balance its economic growth and services while maintaining a wonderful “small town” feel for its residents.

Campbell has grown from a small farming town to a progressive, suburban residential area. It began as a community of farmers busily working the fruit orchards and grew to include large canneries and drying grounds, making the city an important rail center. The most popular fruit grown in Campbell was the prune. Reminders of the past can be seen in the naming of the main shopping center, “The Pruneyard”.
